The Story of Charlie…
Prior to founding Tiffany Street Strategies, Charlie was a Vice President in the real estate team of Kasirer, the #1 lobbying and government relations firm in New York City for the last seven years in a row, and in the top ten for the last 20 years. Here, he worked with a diverse array of clients, supporting them in securing land use entitlements, engaging with agency leaders and elected officials at every level of government and executing advocacy campaigns to progress their projects.
Charlie was a lead account manager for clients that manage millions of square feet of academic and research space, develop affordable and market-rate housing, engage in the modernization of healthcare and commercial office facilities and construct large-scale energy infrastructure, among others.
Prior to Kasirer, Charlie was the Director of Government Affairs at the New York Building Congress, the preeminent building and construction industry association focused on economic development and infrastructure investment, job creation and professional networking. At the Building Congress, he was able to successfully pass legislation at the city and state level and effectively build relationships between its members and government policymakers.
Charlie began his government affairs career at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), where he served as a Vice President in their Government and Community Affairs division covering the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island. Over 6 years at NYCEDC, he worked on projects across the five boroughs that delivered over $1 billion in investments, created 3,000 units of affordable housing, developed 10 acres of new open space, and produced more than 5,000 construction and permanent jobs.
Notable projects include modernization of the Hunts Point Food Distribution Center, the Northeast Bronx YMCA, The Peninsula in Hunts Point, Bronx Point in the South Bronx, the Inwood Rezoning, Urban League Empowerment Center, Zero Irving & Civic Hall at Union Square, Lower Manhattan Coastal Resiliency and the North Shore & New Stapleton Waterfront in Staten Island.
During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Charlie helped launch the East Harlem Small Business Grant program that distributed $4 million in emergency funds to over 200 businesses to help cover operating expenses for struggling small businesses.
For his efforts in the public-and-private sectors, he was recognized in the 2022 Bronx Power 100 by City State - New York.
Prior to working in government and community affairs, Charlie was the Special Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer/VP of Administration at Hunter College, the largest senior college and crown jewel of the City University of New York (CUNY). Here, he assisted with the development and implementation of priorities and policy decisions of President Jennifer Raab across various areas of the College, including Facilities Management, Planning & Capital Projects, and Business Services. During his tenure, he supported the relocation efforts for the Silberman School of Social Work to its new campus in East Harlem, the lease negotiations and relocating of the Master of Fine Arts program to 205 Hudson Street and the recovery efforts at the Brookdale Campus following the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Charlie holds a M.A. in Urban Affairs and B.S. in Political Science, both from Hunter College, and a A.A. in Liberal Arts from the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
